Eagle in Echo Bay, Sucia Island, June 1st

Ok, perhaps they got a little close.

Surprise

Didn't get any good pictures but one of the pods was near shore harassing some kayakers

Two of them swam within 10 feet of the stern

While we were busy looking to starboard this one must have gone under the boat and popped up on the port side with a huge gust of air. After we recovered from shock I took this picture when it surfaced again.

John and I agreed that we'd prefer to be on a large boat at the time.

The next day I took a solo run down to La Conner and then out through Deception Pass. As I made my way back to the marina I noticed the eagle keeping watch over the exit.
