Visiting the Orcas

At the end of May I took a few friends out and we did a loop around Lopez and San Juan Island.  We got lucky and saw a few Orcas (although I have to learn how to get my boat in their path better so perhaps they'll come visit a little closer).  Had a nice leisurely cruise around and all back in the same day.  We saw two orcas first and then a group of three more (just when we thought they had all gone away).  Still learning with my new camera so had some problems since it kept wanting to focus each time so by the time I actually took the picture they were nearly submerged (lot's of pictures of the very top of their fin).

Finally the whales. The were just below Cattle Point of San Juan Island.

We had almost given up on them when the surfaced just beyond this boat.
